Hello Everyone,
It's been a rough week. It's been a terrible week for Orlando, Florida specifically. I can't even begin to imagine how those touched by the this tragedy must feel. Even as I write this post I still have so many emotions and thoughts swirling around inside of heart and head. A lingering sadness persist on the emotional side which is sometimes replaced by anger. I'm angry because this happened. Angry because no common sense gun legislation was already in place that could have prevented the Orlando night club shooting. Or the the senseless murder of Christina Grimmie. I have always been in favor of gun control. I think people should be required to not only pass background checks but also be required to take and pass a comprehensive test on gun safety. I don't think that just anyone should be allowed to own a gun. I've heard all of the arguments for and against and both sides have very valid points. I will say that anyone whose on the FBI watch list or any or type of watch list should not ever be allowed to "legally" purchase a firearm. I can't stress enough to gun rights people that the government aren't coming for your guns. I honestly don't know where people get this stuff from. Gun control is just another issue that they can keep us divided on- just like abortion and immigration. You're always going to have people who fall on both sides of the issues but what I can't stand is for someone to be so entrenched in their beliefs that they abandon all reason and facts that don't support their stance. While the 2nd Amendent was written when their were only muskets I still believe in the right to bar arms. I also believe the right to bare arms comes with a massive responsibility, a burden even. A burden that many people can't bare.
